 MEET LIZA
Liza Moore Ledford spent over twelve years in the studio system of Los Angeles starting with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment at Universal Pictures, moving to Sr. VP of Hogan-Moorhouse Pictures at Sony Studios. Liza took her passion for story development and strong Hollywood relationships to create her boutique management and independent entertainment company, Northstar. Currently Liza continues to develop film and TV projects with her industry contacts and discovers new talent.

Immediately following her graduation from Ithaca College, Liza moved to Los Angeles to join her brother, Chris Moore, in the movie business. Liza landed her first job at Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. There, her dedication and hard work were instrumental in her quick climb in rank, becoming a development executive. During this time, she worked on numerous noteworthy film projects, including THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, HOW TO MAKE AN AMERICAN QUILT, JURASSIC PARK, SCHINDLERS LIST, LITTLE RASCALS and CASPER. She consulted on GOOD WILL HUNTING and co-produced Ben Affleck’s directorial debut short film.

Liza added the role of Production Liaison for the movie TWISTER to her list of responsibilities at Amblin. Working on TWISTER ignited her passion for producing that propelled her to leave Amblin to produce her own film, KISSING A FOOL, for Universal. To continue working in that role, she then teamed up with the talented writer/director’s PJ Hogan and Jocelyn Moorhouse at Sony Studios, as their Senior VP of Production, Liza was responsible for developing and producing all projects for the company.

Liza was highly influential in bringing MY BEST FRIEND’S WEDDING, A THOUSAND ACRES and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE to the big screen. Liza solicited and acquired new material, set up and “pitched” projects to her extensive network of producers, agents, and executives, oversaw production from preliminary budgeting through post production.  In addition, she coordinated film releases, special events, and promotional campaigns as well as supervised daily operations and staff of Hogan-Moorhouse Pictures.

After spending more than twelve years in the Los Angeles area, Liza moved to New Jersey where she continued her work as a story consultant for her LA clients. In addition, she began developing writers who sought out her expertise. Her business grew largely out of its reputation for finding talented new voices and introducing them to Hollywood. Liza built a niche where she could apply her love for storytelling by instructing writers on how to develop their original ideas and finding an industry audience for new talent.

Along with consulting, Liza currently manages talent and produces projects. Northstar has multiple feature films and televison series in the pipeline for production in 2017.

As the owner of Northstar Consulting Services, LLC., Liza offers a wide range of Entertainment Business Consulting on topics including, but not limited to, independent packaging, film financing, marketing and media strategies, as well and ghostwriting and story editing. As a producer, and manager she continues to develop multi-media, film and television projects with her industry contacts.
